Wrong-fuelling
is something that troubles us at least once in our life. And when you realize that
you have pumped incorrect fuel into your car tank, you have sinking feeling that
gets worst with time passing. It is you who have to bear the brunt of your
mistake and the mistake is, often than not, expensive. Apart from that, you have
no way but to wait a few hours for your fuel draining company to come to your
rescue. They also take time to drain wrong fuel, run a checking on your car,
repair or replace if necessary. It simply means you will not be able to get
back to road before a couple of hours.
According
to research, around 23% of car insurance schemes do not provide coverage for
mis-fuelling mistake, which – AA discloses – is done by more than one hundred
thousand motorists every year. The research has revealed a fact that 14% of car
insurance schemes do not provide coverage for damages resulting from your
running out of fuel. That can happen easily if you cannot find out a petrol
court on your way to destination.
The
research also reveals that those who put incorrect fuel into their car face a
hefty amount of repair bill. On top of that, they may also discover that their
breakdown policy contains no clause of coverage for the cars to be walked to a
service centre. Even the breakdown policies providing coverage in this regard
do so for only towing the vehicle to a service centre or its destination. The
best suggestion from our end is to check if you have enough of fuel into car
tank that can sustain you throughout your long journey. And even if you need to
fill up your car tank, be alert at the petrol station that you are not picking
up a wrong fuel pump.

However,
wrong-fuelling mistake happens as you cannot stay alert all the time and lack
of concentration even for a few minutes is enough for wrong fuel going into
your car. You just simply insert petrol nozzle into your diesel car tank though
the opposite is nearly impossible.
